Review: Neutrogena’s Visibly Clear Pink Grapefruit Daily Scrub

Hey loves! So the Visibly Clear Pink Grapefruit Daily Scrub by Neutrogena promises to “eliminate & prevent spots and blackheads with a fresh clean feel”. It’s a new formula created using Microclear technology, developed with dermatologists. I’ve been using a lot of citrus on my face recently. I find that with my oily skin, citrus and vitamin C based products usually work well once the product’s good. I also use a fresh lemon directly to my face after cleansing at night and leave it overnight.

I recently did a microdermabrasion facial which I fancied. It included a scrub, additional cleansing and treatment with the microdermabrasion machine. I had some breakouts at the time and the esthetician recommended that don’t use moisturizers for a while. Simply cleanse. I tried this and my oily skin produced the oil it needed to moisterise naturally for about 2 weeks. I never normally do this but I guess because of the change of environment, climate – not being exposed to a lot of sun etc. It worked out fine. I currently use a dab of Shea butter or coconut oil every other night for moisterization. If your skin is dry, try adding a few drops to your daily moisturizer.

Back to this scrub! Perfect for mornings: I used this pink grapefruit scrub to wash away all build up from my face from overnight. Simply massaging the product onto my wet face and rinse thoroughly. I use cold water to wash my face in the mornings because frankly it makes me more energized. I can say this scrub overall gets the job done. The micro beads exfoliate well and leaves my skin feeling deeply cleansed and refreshed. It smells nice too. Very fruity and fun. The wave of pink grapefruit and burst of freshness really uplifts my senses first thing in the morning. The scrub gives a fresh clean with no leftover residue.  I was hoping there would be a bit of a tingling feeling which also leaves me more energized but there wasn’t really. This product can also be used in the night. However, independently it’s not enough for makeup removal. Overall it gets the job done! It does help to eliminate blackheads and it exfoliates and cleanes deeply. X
